America Online (AOL)  all versions

AOL Mail Center has various options and features to manage your mail. For the most part your e-mail is  saved at AOL, not on  your own computer. Deleting e-mail is as easy as highlighting one or more messages in your mailbox, then clicking DELETE.

AOL does not have an unlimited amount of space to store your mail.  There is a time limit on how long they will keep mail and how many messages you can leave in their mail system.

If your AOL mailbox does get full, it is possible that new mail will be returned as undeliverable until you clean up your mailbox by deleting old message you no longer need.

AOL's Personal Filing Cabinet (PFC) allows you to save your mail on your computer for future reference.  The PFC can also store your address book. Also remember to compact the PFC to reclaim wasted space in this file.

Consult AOL's help screen for more information on the size and time limitations of AOL mailSearch topics in help might be:
